Types of cookies
Cookies can belong to first or third parties, with “first party” cookies being those that have the website as their domain and “third party” cookies those related to external domains. Third party cookies are by definition installed by an external party, always referred to as a “third party”, and are not managed by the site. Such persons may also install first-party cookies, saving their own cookies on the site domain. Another type of cookie is the so-called “Flash Cookie” (Local Shared Objects), used within Adobe Flash Player for delivering content such as video clips or animations, in order to remember settings and preferences.
